[New Event] Photography Africa
DITLA (“A Day in The Life of Africa”) photography exhibition will be held at JICA (the Japan International Cooperation Agency) Yokohama from Feb.1 to March. 2.
DITLA is a photographic project to increase international awareness of the crisis situation on the African continent, where there are more than 25 million HIV positive men and women. Nearly 100 photographers from 26 countries take part in the project, including the Pulitzer Prize winner Larry Price and Taiji Igarashi from Japan.
Around 80 images will be displayed related to the MDGs (Millennium Development Goals), eight goals that 189 U.N. member states have agreed to try to achieve by the year 2015, including the eradication of extreme poverty and hunger, promoting gender equality and empowering women, and combating HIV/AIDS, malaria, and other diseases.
Admission is free and the exhibit will be open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (last entrance is 5:30 p.m.).
