[New Product] Zero-carb suds
Sapporo Breweries Ltd. is to market a zero-carb, low-malt beer starting April 16.
Targeting the growing number of health-conscious consumers, beer manufacturers have been releasing products with health-related added values. However, healthy fod and drink often have lighter taste and less satisfying. But Sapporo Breweries has managed to develop a zero-carb low-malt beer that has a pleasing taste and good alcohol content.
The Viva! Life uses pea protein to increase the fermentation activity of the yeast and substantially lowers the amount of carbohydrate left after the fermentation. Alcohol content is raised to 5 percent by adding spirits, and hops are added twice to give a refreshing and rich flavor.
The suggested retail price will be left to the discretion of retailers.
