Run'a Co., under a licensing agreement with Walt Disney Japan Ltd., is to release a Stitch radio/CD player in May.
The player is inspired by the scene from the movie "Lilo & Stitch" in which Stitch puts his nail on a spinning record in place of the record player's stylus and the music comes out of his mouth.
Shaped like Stitch's head, the CD tray is inside Stitch's mouth, and CDs are inserted by opening the mouth and pressing the tongue. The speakers are in the ears and the eyes light up green when the power is turned on. Pressing a tooth controls the play, fast forward, rewind and stop functions.
The player has a line-in port for connection to external music players.
The suggested retail price of the Stitch radio/CD player is 9,240 yen, including tax, and is available through runatown's online store at www.runatown.com
